This is our life's work
After holding digital leadership roles at Starbucks, MGM Resorts, and AG1 (Athletic Greens), Kelly Smith turned his attention to a problem he kept seeing across healthcare: the infrastructure itself was the bottleneck. He founded Curious Office in 2007 as a venture lab for building and investing in digital products — with exits to Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Comcast and more. Teligant is the result of software professionals applying two decades of platform experience to a software problem that costs telehealth operators millions or stops them from launching altogether.

We're working toward a healthcare system where AI amplifies clinicians, telehealth is the default entry point, and innovation comes from everywhere — not just well-funded institutions.
Independent clinicians launch innovative care models. Specialized providers serve niche populations profitably. The next breakthrough comes from a med spa aesthetician, a personal trainer, or a pharmacist. Technology levels the playing field between independent practices and large health systems.
What we believe
Technology should expand access. AI's greatest impact is in health. Infrastructure should be invisible. Compliance is the foundation, not an afterthought.
Patients should think about their care, not the technology. Providers should think about their patients, not their software. We're building infrastructure our partners will rely on for years. That requires trust, stability, and commitment.
Why now
Healthcare is at an inflection point. Patient expectations have shifted, AI has crossed a threshold, regulatory winds are changing, and the old model is breaking under its own weight.
The pandemic proved telehealth works. Patients now expect the same convenience from healthcare that they get from every other service. States are expanding telehealth parity. Licensing is becoming more portable. The window for transformation is open. We intend to move through it.
